Who Do We Think We Are? Engaging the Hidden Diversity of Class

UUs tend to think of ourselves as mostly white (true), formally well-educated (more UUs have college degrees than do members of other religious denominations), and more affluent than most (maybe not quite as true as we think). But what if these assumptions, even though grounded in reality, actually serve to conceal congregants whose lives don’t fit this stereotype? What wisdom might we gain by exploring and welcoming our existing diversity?
