“In recent years, UUs have increasingly been drawn to explore Buddhist religious practices, especially seated meditation, in order to ground the ‘free and responsible search for truth and meaning’ that is one of the guiding principles of the UU tradition.” –UU Buddhist Fellowship This class is a continuously-open peerled meditation and dharma study group. This quarter the discussion will return to some basic information about the history and philosophy of Buddhism. It will show how it does not ask you to give up your beliefs, is in harmony with our UU principles, and may be of assistance to your personal search for truth and meaning. If you would like some introductory meditation instruction, it will be in the half-hour before the meeting by prior arrangement. Mindfulness can be a spiritual path without “becoming Buddhist,” so come join us and learn how dharma is not dogma!
