Judgment is the Enemy of Curiosity

In the far back past there was a belief in magical properties of a group, a people or sometimes interpreted as a nation. A magical connection that imbued all who were of the people with a common attribute. One of these attributes was collective guilt. Because the people were connected by blood to a common ancestor who sinned or it was just considered to be their nature. It meant that any member was also as guilty as the original transgressor and could be treated as such. We no longer agree that magic exists intellectually but in practice it is still done. How shall UU’s proceed in this Medieval ethos and bring sanity and modernity to the present?
