This Week on the Peak

This Week on the Peak

Mission Peak UU – Fremont, CA

The Home of Liberal Religion in the Tri-Cities and Beyond!

June 20, 2018

This Sunday’s Service:

“Leadership as Spiritual Practice”

There are many spiritual practices which people undertake to cultivate personal spiritual development and experience. You might find Serving on the board or a committee of Mission Peak an unlikely candidate, but, if approached with dedication to be an effective leader
in accordance with our UU principles and best leadership practices, it becomes one. We will explore some of what is involved in leading from a spiritual practice  perspective at this service.

Drew Wilson will lead the service and assisting will be Worship Associate Ilze Duarte. Jay Steele will provide our music.
2017-2018 Pledges

Just a reminder that June 30th is the fiscal year end for Mission Peak UU. If you haven’t completed your pledge for 2017-2018 please bring a check to the next service or mail a check to PO Box 545, Fremont, CA 94537. If you are unable to fulfill your pledge or need to pay a different amount please let one of us know so that our records can be adjusted accordingly.
Also, if you have any reimbursement requests for the current year please get those to us by June 24th so that they can be included in this year’s expenses.

It’s summertime in the RE program.  All children and youth will be enjoying a variety of activities during class.  They may find a member sharing their passion, a fun craft to make or an exciting game to play.  It will be a fun summer filled with social time.  We still need a few teachers for August, if you would like to volunteer this summer, please contact CaYRE at

Request for Class Proposals – Adult Education – Fall 2018

The Adult Education Committee is seeking class proposals for the 2018 Fall quarter – September through November. This is an opportunity for you to share what you know with others. We especially welcome our new members to consider teaching a class as it provides a unique opportunity to get to know others in a different setting.
Past topics have included meditation, healthy eating, art and spirituality, the Enneagram, poems, and a singalong. Classes can vary from one-time events to meeting every week. They can be held at Mission Peak or at your home. If you have an idea but not sure if it would work, check it out with one of our committee members on Sunday morning. Committee members are Eric Dittmar, Ilze Duarte, Patt Saso, Len Tiemann and Linda Messia. (Len and Linda will be on travel throughout June)
How can you submit a proposal? Email Linda Messia at
with your course information.   Please submit your proposal no later than July 6th.  Thank you!
