Sometimes mental illness happens when a person is a senior citizen, even if it hasn’t occurred at any time earlier in life. Understanding the mental health needs of seniors is becoming more important as the baby boomer population ages. The issue of mental health in older people is discussed with geriatric psychiatrist Dr. Akbar Gilani, and Arthur Strosberg, a senior citizen client who got a new lease on life after getting therapy.
