Choir
“Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.”
~~ Victor Hugo
The Peak Performers are a small but enthusiastic choir which sings a diverse repertoire. The choir presents one anthem per month, on average. These anthems are pre-recorded and compiled, and we’re happy to help anyone unfamiliar with the system with the technology aspect of this process as needed.
We recently hired Von Bringhurst as a part-time choir director to lead our choir.
Von Bringhurst completed his Master of Music in Vocal Performance degree in 2012 at the Longy School of Music of Bard College in Cambridge, MA. He currently directs the Peak Performers of Mission Peak Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Fremont, CA. He is also soprano section leader for Christ Church Portola Valley and Woodside, and a core member of Clerestory.
Von currently teaches voice with the Community School of Music and Arts in Mountain View. He is a native of Pocatello, Idaho, where he also attended Idaho State University, graduating with honors in 2009. He has been heard as a soloist and ensemble member in Idaho, New England, and the West Coast with groups such as Força Chorus, Harvard Early Music Society, Iberica Early Music Festival, Metro Stage Company, Video Game Orchestra, Xerces Blue Ensemble, the choir of St. Paul’s Harvard Square (Cambridge, MA), the Genesis Chamber Singers, and others. He can also be heard on a number of video game titles, including Ace Combat, Code Vein, and Final Fantasy XV. Von has been Music Director for the Opera House Theater Company in Philipsburg, MT; The Virginia City Players of Virginia City, MT; and has been rehearsal accompanist, Assistant Music Director, and Music Director for WholeTone Opera of Somerville, MA.
He currently lives in the Bay Area with his spouse and shiba inu.
