Mission Peak’s Share the Plate Program

September Share the Plate: SAVE

On Sunday, September 14th, we’ll be collecting donations for our first Share the Plate visitor of the season. We will welcome a representative from SAVE (Safe Alternatives to Violent Environments)

SAVE’s mission is to strengthen every individual and family they serve with the knowledge and support needed to break the cycle of violence and build healthier lives. They believe that every person has the right to live in peace. Every day they provide shelter, support, and educational opportunities for individuals and families to end the cycle of violence, so they may heal and have the freedom to reach their potential, thereby strengthening communities.

SAVE offers much more than shelter – counseling, transitional housing, life skills training, legal advocacy, restraining orders, crisis intervention, community education, teen dating violence prevention program, children’s programs, and support groups are also provided by this Fremont non profit organization.

If you would like to donate to SAVE on Sunday, September 14th, please come ready to be generous. Checks can be made out to “SAVE” Any cash donations will go directly to this organization as well. If you are bringing in your MPUUC pledge, please make a note of it on the check or envelope of cash.

We would like to thank everyone who contributed to last June’s share the plate organization – our own Peggy Rahman, from the local organization NAMI was very pleased to receive Mission Peak’s donation. We raised $730 to go towards the annual NAMI walk in the Summer!

If you have a local non-profit who you would like to see highlighted on one of our Share the Plate Sundays, please contact Natalie Campbell (nataliehcampbell at yahoo.com).
