Adult Education
Adult Religious Education Classes
The Adult Education Committee offers a variety of classes, workshops and seminars which we hope will nurture and stimulate the spiritual and personal growth of our adult church community. Classes are held in the fall, winter and spring. Members and their friends and family are welcome to attend. We also welcome those who have ideas and/or would like to teach or join our committee.
Past topics have included Buddhist meditation, healthy eating, art and spirituality, the Enneagram, poems, and celebration of the sacred feminine. UUA Common Read book discussions are also offered. Classes can vary from one-time events to meeting every week. Generally, classes can be held at Mission Peak or at your home.

ARO workshops on Microaggressions and Religious Wounding
Rev. Barbara Meyers and Rev. Greg Ward
Wednesday April 12 7:00 – 8:00 pm:
Microaggressions.
Learn what microaggressions are and how it’s possible to ‘call people in’ to a new way of engagement. Marginalized identities report often feeling uncomfortable in UU spaces, including MPUUC. Studies show that when 10-20% of a community is knowledgeable redirecting such conversations, marginalized folks feel safer and more at home.
Wednesday April 26 7:00 – 8:00 pm:
Religious Wounds.
Many people have been wounded by religious communities they’ve been a part of. This has been particularly true of people identifying as LGBT. Come and learn about how this happens and how we can be a compassionate and welcoming home at MPUUC.
Sign Up for these workshops. We look forward to seeing you there!
