We all need to know what to do when the bullets start flying. This is something we all need to think about, because the work of liberation – overthrowing oppression – requires risk. And few people go through war without losing a single battle. We have to know how to experience the pain of loss, how to carry the grief and bear the weight of a broken heart. In the immortal words of boxer, Mike Tyson, ‘everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.’ Truly great people know what to do after that.
