Veterans now account for one of every five suicides in the U.S., according to the George Washington University Face the Facts Initiative. With numbers like this, some are calling the suicide rate an epidemic. In this month’s Mental Health Matters, hear from an veteran on his experience managing PTSD and the culture around mental health in the military. Discover what does and doesn’t work when it comes to treatment, and what loved ones can do for veterans who may be struggling. Host Shannon Eliot chats with Aaron Hinde, an Army veteran of the Iraq War, and Dr. David Joseph, a clinical psychologist at the Oakland Vet Center.
